‘Tis the Season for Sweaters

Hi Friends,

I hope everyone is keeping safe and continuing to hang in there as we all navigate through the  challenges of 2020.

On the blog today, my post will be on how I styled my Mela Pointelle Pullover Sweater.  Since it has gotten a bit chilly in Houston /Katy with the temperatures dipping to the low 60’s Fahrenheit ,  it was time to  put together some cooler weather outfits . And the one wardrobe staple that immediately comes to mind to withstand the brisk, nippy weather  is the all encompassing sweater .

Sweaters are timeless. It is that one classic  piece that will never go out of style and it comes in a wide variety of forms (such as cardigan sweaters, pullover sweaters, turtle neck sweaters, etc. ), fabric  (wool, cotton , cashmere),  silhouettes  (oversized, fitted and cropped) and  colors.  Therefore, there is a sweater for any  fashion look  that you may want to create.

The sweater that I wore for this blog post is my rust brown Mela Pointelle Pullover sweater.  Pointelle is a cotton knit fabric that is interlaced with small holes. Therefore,  it is the perfect  piece for layering. Consequently , I styled my sweater by layering it over a polka dot dress. By pairing these pieces together I loved how  the contrasting  hues of the darker sweater and the lighter dress complemented each other perfectly. Personally, I  found that this combination created a rather chic and polished outfit.  In regards to its functionality, the layering aspect meant that I was kept warm and cozy.

In  addition to being stylish, this sweater is versatile and practical guaranteeing that I get a lot of mileage out of this piece. For instance, I can easily switch my looks up by  layering it over a shirt and wear it with  jeans or leggings for a more casual, relaxed image or I can simply pair it with a mini skirt and high boots for that modish vibe.

To complete my look I wanted a touch of glitz.  So I purposely accessorized  with hair clips. Hair accessories are quite popular and they are such an excellent and effortless way to add that extra bit of panache and flair to  any outfit.

This concludes this personal style blog post . Thank you for stopping by and reading.

Love, Sal.
