Sheer Elegance

Happy 2019 loves! I hope that this new year brings to you more light, growth and success in your personal life journey. And in those times,   when life curve balls  make your journey seem  a little bumpy or challenging ,  I pray that you remember to be kind to your self, take time to rest and reset  and have faith in your inner resilient strength to courageously push you  forward . After a bit of  introspection, my 2019 intentions include ; practising more gratitude, having faith in my life path, trusting the process  and focusing on doing things that brings me genuine joy. On that basis, I am truly grateful for this little creative space that allows me to happily engage in my  passion project of writing and  sharing my personal style.

For my first outfit post for the new year,  I wore an  ensemble which I felt echoed a touch of whimsical  elegance. The fanciful feel of the outfit can perhaps be attributed to the dainty sheer blouse I donned. Its trumpet sleeves, ruffles and bow makes it an ultra feminine statement piece. And I especially  love how its  billowy silhouette and delicate material is guaranteed to  add a semblance of romance  and panache to any outfit.  It is therefore, the perfect eye- catching blouse to be included in every fashionista’s wardrobe.

In terms to how I styled my sheer statement blouse,  I decidedly paired it with an on trend, mustard colored, wide leg trousers. In fact,  this popular style of the 70s is presently enjoying a major fashion come back.  Undoubtedly, the resurgence and increased popularity of wide leg trousers can be credited to  its classic aesthetic   and  guaranteed comfort.  Therefore, wearing this article of clothing  is a surefire way to achieving an effortlessly chic look. I also love that these trousers are an investment piece because  it is a style that transcends the seasons hence making it transitional and functional.

In  respect to my ensemble, I  felt that the roomy silhouette of the wide leg trousers complemented the exquisiteness of the statement blouse consequently  giving rise to an in vouge outfit. To complete my look, I accessorized with a   cobalt blue box purse. This purse sought to further enhance the overall  look of the outfit,  by adding a pop of bold color and  an  element of fun  which can be attributed  to its square box shape.

This therefore concludes my first blog post of 2019.   I really do hope you all enjoyed this outfit post and thank you for reading.

Lots of love,

Midsummer Florals

Hello again my dearest friends. Can you believe that we are already in the month of August?! This year is definitely flying by. Summer is coming to an end and the gradual cooler temperatures is an indication that fall is just around  the corner. As such, I am savoring the remaining warm bright summer days.

On one of those days I visited the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot, North Dakota, and I wore a maxi dress which I consider to be the quintessential  summer dress.  Its light weight material and sheer long sleeves ensured that I remained cool and comfortable  as I wandered through the pictorial verdant landscape  in the summer heat. The flowy and billowing facets of the skirt part of the dress not only glamourized the ensemble but  guaranteed a great deal of movement.

What I also adore about this dress  is the floral print which is the pattern iconic of summer and fall. Therefore, with the appropriate layering when the temperature gets cooler this versatile dress can be transitioned into a chic fall outfit. But in this present case I was delighted at how the floral fabric appeared to blend with the breathtaking  lush vibrant seasonal blooms planted in the park which I felt  further enhanced the  fun and romantic feel of the dress.  Furthermore, to ensure my maxi summer dress remained the center piece I decided to keep my accessories at a minimal, thereby only wearing a pair of neutral color tassel earrings and a wide brim hat.

In light thereof,  I hope you all enjoy this outfit post and thank you for reading.

When in Vegas…

Hello my dearest lovelies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far.

Recently I visited the city of Las Vegas in the state of Nevada. And from the moment I walked out of the airplane and throughout my entire visit I was perpetually enthralled by the brilliant coruscating neon lights along the Vegas strip , the liveliness of the people, the beauty of the landscape  and the breathtaking  buildings  with  intricate architectural designs equivalent to works of art.  Therefore, to me, Las Vegas is a city that screams glitz and glamour while simultaneously showcasing the  natural beauty of the desert landscape.

In respect to the fashion, I noticed that the way people dressed and their  fashion choices were influenced by the scorching heat characteristic of the desert climate   and the  vibrancy and energy of the bustling environment. Therefore, comfortable dressing without sacrificing style reigned supreme.

Bearing these factors in mind, on one of the days I was in Las Vegas  my husband photographed me wearing a lightweight, loose fitted ,  white sheath dress  which guaranteed me  comfort  in temperatures tipping over 90 degrees Fahrenheit.  Additionally, I felt that the straight cut design of the sheath dress and the intricate black patterns on the edges of the dress gave the outfit a bohemian feel.  However, since I wanted a  somewhat defined and lady liked  silhouette I cinched the waist of my dress with a broad belt without sacrificing that easy breezy look.

In terms of  footwear, I wore  an on trend  red suede block heels shoes. The height and width of the block heels made it an ideal footwear for an evening stroll along the Las Vegas strip in comfort while  at the same time being trendy.  The pop of red colour of the shoes completed the  look of the outfit  by providing a touch of glamour.

So my dearest lovelies, this concludes this blog post on one of the outfits I wore during my visit to Las Vegas. I hope you all enjoy this post and thank you for reading.

Lots of Love,

Salisha.
